FAQ

Why do I need this?

So you can develop your dapp with existing Mainnet protocols out of the box. MoonNet gives you a Ganache-based test-chain in the cloud that is insta-mined and has Mainnet state.

Can I fork off of this?

Yes! In fact we encourage you to. The money-legos package actually run tests in CI by creating Ganache instances forked off of a MoonNet node.

Why do I need archival access?

The state is usually pruned every 128 blocks by Ganache, this means you'll normally need to re-deploy your contracts every 128 blocks. This is not a problem with MoonNet.

What are the pre-instantiated accounts?

These are the accounts, each loaded with 1000 ETH.

How is this different from Infura?

This node has archival access on by default, and costs you much less than $250/month. Our community also provides expertise and other libraries for DeFi development.

Our focus is to help you work with existing DeFi protocols.

What can I do with the node URL?

You can replace your local test-chain URL with the supplied node URL (after all, it's just a Ganache instance). You also get free access to Mainnet state and you don't need to run your own test-chain locally anymore. Of course you can also fork off MoonNet locally if you don't want to pollute the state of your MoonNet node.
